From a Dime

My journey traces back to where I began my career as a simple commoner juggling between the work and the house in a tier two city. Life isn’t always an easy-breezy phenomenon for everyone. Sometimes even to live is an act of courage. They say “Survival of the fittest” only can retain on this earth. But I believe it doesn’t matter how fittest you are, how intelligible you are, but how you can best manage the change. A man like me without an acquaintance of paper knowledge, a teacher to get inspired by, or even a middle school education, wouldn’t even have the chance to get a proper job anywhere. But my ardent survival drive, adrenaline push to change my own destiny came with my numerous humiliations and failures to face my biggest “nothing-to-have” life. Hard work and thriving amidst the shackles were my primary motive, which navigated me to my steady self-employment career.
It never ceases to amaze me how much time people waste searching endlessly for magic shortcuts to entrepreneurial success and fulfillment when the only real path is staring them right in the face: real entrepreneurs who start real businesses that employ real people provide real products and services to real customers.
Yes, I know that’s hard. It's a lot of work. What can I say? That’s Life. Besides, look on the bright side: You get to do what you want, and you get to do it your way. There’s just one catch. I have got to start somewhere. Ideas and opportunities don’t just materialize out of thin air. That is how I stepped into the marketing career as an aspiring individual with a heart full of hopes!

Excellent Execution is the Ultimate Differentiator

The business has only two functions — innovation and marketing. I had the wildest opportunities to endorse national hit products and had the chance to make it reachable to everyone. It has been over 20 years since I built my advertising career with the cutting edge advertising strategy through which I reached millions of people to place the products right. I habitually look at the world of business with a skeptical eye and a firmly rooted tongue in cheek. The only way I know to get started is by learning a marketable skill and getting to work. In my experience, that’s where the ideas, opportunities, partners, and finances always seem to come from. Sure, it also takes an enormous amount of hard work, but that just comes with the territory.
The most challenging part is being taken seriously, both by those around me and other businesspeople. It's fair to have a challenging project or situation because I'll figure out a way to accomplish it, even if it means spending more hours and educating myself. It was not all rosy for me to turn my business career with a turnover of millions. You can't run a solo operation and expect your business to survive, especially in this economy, without sacrificing most of your social life and working yourself to the bone. When I started my own career by representing various brands in the tier two cities in my region, I had to make choices, some of which were sacrifices. There are some things you will gain and some things you will lose. It's a balancing act.
The struggle of life with even a small reward changes your mindset, and the ray of confidence it gives cannot be gauged easily. That is where I stumbled to have a crystal streamline of what I was really doing. Was I a self-employed person? Or Was I an entrepreneur? Just because I was endorsing and representing national brands in my region, would I become an entrepreneur? The rhetorical questions repeatedly spun inside my head. The surrounding shared by oneself is indispensable to mold the way you think. My head was in the clouds and veiled under false connotation about myself for a long 20 years until I came out of my toxic acquaintances. When starting a new business, it seems logical to partner with a close friend. However, many people underestimate the stress a business will put on friendship. I've experienced life-long friendships ruined from business relationships gone bad. At one point or another, we found ourselves in a precarious situation that was hard to get out of. I felt frozen, having mixed feelings about him who I felt had devious intentions, yet afraid of firing him for the fear that he might damage or potentially destroy the very thing I had worked so hard to create. As I internalized these responses and accusations from my partner, it impacted my productivity. But even more importantly, it took a toll on my attitude. I found myself constantly discouraged and depressed — questioning my ability to accomplish anything. I didn’t fully understand what was going on until I started seeking the outside world with what an entrepreneur really is. I had turned a blind eye to my closely held relation with my business circle.
Understanding what they are and how to overcome them has already made my life far easier — as an entrepreneur and partner. It was the turning point in my life that hit with a bull’s eye realization that objective thinking is more critical when it comes to business, even when you had to make decisions against your unproductive partnerships. It was indeed a prolific metamorphosis in my life, from being a blind believer to my close circle of toxic dynamic to a free flight with an independent mind to think out of the box and standing on my own to fend for myself, beginning my second innings again. But this time as a proper entrepreneur with professional moves and objective thinking in my business career.

Life is full of Care & No Time to Stand & Stare

Everybody has their own stumbles and rumbles in their life at a point in time. It’s always an uphill for oddities. Such a colossal oddity was the pandemic situation tolling every life on earth—situations with economy line marching down, increased famine in the poor households, and whatnot. As the forced lockdown compels humanity to ponder over the choices made in the past few decades, a thread that stands out universally is that our lives are fragile. The things we took for granted were quickly snatched away from our hands. The ubiquitous Indian railway, the friendly vegetable hawker, the drive to the nearest hypermarket are no longer available at our beck and call as the resilience of these interconnected networks is frayed at the edges. It did hit my business career. Food played an indomitable role in this pandemic situation as it was the first concern of every human to feed thyself and family. But I believe epidemics like the coronavirus outbreak are a mirror for humanity, reflecting the moral relationships people have toward one other. I couldn’t keep my head out of the thought the food in its pure stage is still not accessible to our region’s commoners and laypeople. That hit me hard, and that is when I started to search for light through the gloominess of the world. I couldn’t stand and stare at the quality of food we are consuming, even knowing the risks are at the stakes. Organic Foods is the other venture I step into, to turn the tables of the stereotype “Organic food is a rich commodity” to make it accessible and available at the budget list of a middle-class man..

Mighty Oaks from Little Acorns Grow

I am always a believer in “The best way out is always through” - Striving hard to grow through what I go through. I envision our nation with more nourished and healthy citizens through making the “rich commodity” organic foods available at the doorstep of each house in the country without empty out their pockets. I do not cease to strive hard to turn my little spark into a huge Oak of success. Miles to Go before I sleep!
