5 Elements

About Us

5 Elements is a trailblazing community formed to impact the significant benefits of organic practices and foods to the general public for witnessing discernible changes in our climate conditions and global warming situations. We aim to work in harmony with nature in everything we do, mirroring its patterns and its ancient wisdom. From water and the soil to tiny pollinators and birds, we’re passionate about protecting our planet and leaving this earth better than we found it.

When you’re aware of the devastation brought by chemical ingested agribusiness to animals and the environment, indeed your conscience suffers-and the fact is that a bad conscience is terrible for our health. Making organic food as big a part of our diet as possible will be a huge favor for ourselves. Not only will our health benefit, but so will the rest of the world. In fact, it may be the most important action we ever take.

Our Vision

We envision our earth returning to the evergreen hue by eliminating the toxic substances derogating our Mother Nature. Our community is ardent in the belief that ‘A change for the better environment comes from a change every individual initiates.’

Our Mission

We, 5 Elements, are a global community, showing possible paths forward and benefits of being proactive in the belief that ‘Changing for the better environment comes from preserving the major five elements of our earth.’ Our first step is to create change from the food we consume. Organic agriculture is based on practices that not only protect environmental health but also strive to improve it. Organic practices help keep our water supply clean of run-off from toxic and persistent chemicals

Organic agriculture is regenerative. Organic farms should be managed in concert with natural systems to enhance our local ecosystems’ ecology, including clean air, water, soil, and food

Earth: Protect Our Species

The world is home to millions of species, many of which are yet to be discovered. However, climate change, habitat loss, poaching, and pollution threaten our endangered species, which has a devastating effect on the earth's ecosystem. There's so much we can do to change this. Still, simple ideas include using oxybenzone-free sunscreen to protect our coral reefs avoid using harmful pesticides to protect our insects and bees, and support sustainable fishing and farming.

Fire: Fight Global Warming and Reduce Energy

We are already experiencing impacts from climate change, including heatwaves and extreme weather. The burning of fossil fuels is a huge cause of the problem. Just by moving your heater thermostat down two degrees in winter and up two degrees in the summer, you can reduce your carbon footprint by 2,000 pounds! You can also try lowering the temperature of your water heater, switching to a renewable energy utility company, and using energy-efficient appliances and electronics.

Water: Reduce Water Consumption

With the population and global warming on the rise, reducing our water usage is becoming increasingly important. It’s one of the most manageable steps we can take to preserve our earth. Try taking a shorter shower, use a water-saving showerhead, only run your dishwasher when it's full, and conserve water outdoors by only watering your lawn in the early morning or late at night.

Metal: Re-Use & Recycle

Aluminium is 100% recyclable and can be reused time and time again, which means we can drastically reduce the need for mining by recycling wherever possible! If we recycled all of our aluminium, we would never have to make more– in theory, we have a never-ending supply of it in circulation right now. Saying no to single-use plastic and donating used clothes and textiles are also great ways to make a difference.

Wood: Get Green & Plant Trees

The Trees are a vital part of our ecosystem, absorbing carbon dioxide and potentially harmful gasses from the air and releasing oxygen for us to breathe. Combat climate change by getting together with friends or family and organize a community tree planting. Did you know that one large tree can supply a day's supply of oxygen for four people? If you're not feeling green-fingered, donate a tree on Earth’s Day.

Our community is ardent in the belief that ‘A change for the better environment comes from a change every individual initiates.’ We believe that one way to accelerate the needed change towards sustainability is to find answers to the following question: How can individuals be engaged to take actions leading strategically towards sustainability? The first and foremost change starts with the food we consume.

How your food is grown or raised can have a significant impact on your mental and emotional health as well as the environment. Organic foods often have more beneficial nutrients, such as antioxidants, than their conventionally-grown counterparts. Organic farming tends to be better for the environment. Organic farming practices may reduce pollution, conserve water, reduce soil erosion, increase soil fertility, and use less energy. Farming without synthetic pesticides is also better for nearby birds and animals as well as people who live close to farms.

Organic agriculture is based on practices that not only protect environmental health but also strive to improve it. Organic practices help keep our water supply clean of run-off from toxic and persistent chemicals. Moreover, by prohibiting using petroleum-based fertilizers and absorbing carbon dioxide from the air, organic agriculture reduces our carbon footprint and combat climate change.

5 Elements is a trailblazing community formed to impact the aforementioned benefits of organic practices and foods to the general public for witnessing discernible changes in our climate conditions and global warming situations. By choosing organic food, you show that you prefer these environmental and sustainable systems while at the same time, help improve your health. We aim to work in harmony with nature in everything we do, mirroring its patterns and its ancient wisdom. From water and the soil to tiny pollinators and birds, we’re passionate about protecting our planet and leaving this earth better than we found it.

Organic Dairy

Milk can help provide kids with the nutrients and vitamins they need to build strong bones and healthy muscles. But not all milk is created equal. Organic milk has more good stuff, and none of the antibiotics, synthetic growth hormones, or controversial pesticides. Organic baby formula is made with organic milk, which comes from free- range cows who eat organic food. The cows are also not routinely treated with antibiotics, as other cows often are. Experts agree that breastmilk is the best nutrition for your baby before six months. But if you choose to formula-feed instead, all formula is produced to strict regulations, which control everything from the nutritional value to the amount of pesticides used. Once your baby is six months old, you can give her small amounts of cows' milk in her food, plus foods made from milk such as cheese and yogurt. Once she's a year old, you can give her cows' milk as the main drink, too. However, organic milk tends to contain more omega-3 fatty acids, beneficial for your baby's brain development. One large study suggested that babies who drink organic milk may be less likely to develop eczema. It may be worth considering organic milk if asthma, eczema, or other allergic conditions run in your family.Organic dairy products are not limited to just milk, cheese, and yogurt. Cream, half-and- half, butter, and ice cream are readily available too. Dairy is one of the fastest-growing segments of the organic food industry, according to OTA (Organic Trade Association).

Organic Regular Foods

There are two more comprehensive reasons why many people choose organic:
Animal welfare:
organically reared animals spend more time grazing outdoors and are generally considered to have happier lives than conventionally raised animals.
Antibiotic resistance:
experts are concerned that overusing antibiotics in animals could lead to bacteria developing a resistance to antibiotics, which could make antibiotic medicines less effective in humans. Conventionally reared animals are routinely treated with antibiotics to prevent disease, while organically reared animals are only treated with antibiotics when they're ill. This means much less antibiotic use and less danger of antibiotic resistance. Research shows that organically grown foods may be more nutritious than conventionally grown foods. For example, organic fruits and vegetables have been shown to contain more vitamin C and are richer in some antioxidants such as polyphenolic compounds. Furthermore, organically grown grains may have better quality protein than non-organic grains.

Organically Healthy Snacks

Snack time is an excellent opportunity to sneak some extra nutrients into your child’s diet. Instead of highly processed snack foods, fill your child’s tummy with whole foods that will provide energy and nutrition. Here are some of the organic snack alternatives instead of prepackaged junk foods.
Celery with peanut butter and raisins, sometimes called “ants on a log” is a fun way to get your child to eat a vegetable. These three foods combined provide the right balance of carbs, protein, and fat. Pears are a sweet treat and easy for a little one to eat when they’re cut into slices. Pears are high in fiber and beneficial plant compounds. Spread each piece with ricotta cheese to add a yummy source of protein and calcium to your child’s snack. Some parents think it’s hard to get their kids to eat vegetables. But if you make it fun for them, they’re more likely to try the veggies. Veggies are loaded with essential vitamins and minerals, and many kids don’t eat enough of them. Sandwiches don’t have to be just for mealtime. Half a sandwich can also make a healthy snack for kids. To build a healthy sandwich, start with whole-wheat bread, pick a protein source, and include a fruit or veggie, if possible. Many kids get hungry between meals. A healthy snack can provide your kids with energy and help them get the nutrients they need daily. Offer your kids whole, unprocessed foods at snack time instead of prepackaged snack foods.

Why does it benefit Children?

Children with their smaller size, rapid growth rate, and speedy metabolisms are more vulnerable to developmental damage than adults. Research shows that a child gets four times more exposure to pesticides in their foods than adults. Current regulations of acceptable pesticide residues allowed in conventional, non-organically grown food are based on adult consumption standards, not children. Children just cannot withstand that level of exposure.
A recent study of 600 people found that those exposed to pesticides had a 1.6 times greater risk of developing Parkinson’s disease than those who were not. According to lead researcher Dana Hancock stated in BMC Neurology Journal, those who made “heavy use” of pesticides, or who were exposed to them more than 200 days in the course of their lifetime, were found to have over twice the level of risk, suggesting that “there is solid evidence” linking pesticide use and Parkinson’s disease.

The Bottom Line

A growing number of studies show that babies and young children are particularly vulnerable to the harmful effects of exposure to synthetic pesticides. Choosing organic products can go a long way toward minimizing your child's exposure to these and other toxic substances. Plus, studies show that organic foods contain a wide range of nutrients that help to keep your child healthy.
If you really want to give your baby the best start in life, going organic is undoubtedly one of the best ways to make it. From breakfasts, lunch, and dinner, right the way through to snacks, an organic approach sets your baby up for a healthy childhood and beyond. Even if your baby is older, there is never a bad time to make the switch over to organic food! Investing in organic foods for your children is the best investment you get in return through your kids’ apparent well-built health in the future. Hands down, research, and common sense show children who eat an organic diet will be healthier than those who don’t. So why take chances? Segue into an organic lifestyle today! Responsibly build the next generation, the Healthiest!
